FRG Typical Application

CHEMICAL

The FRG’s unique composition and combination of scientifically selected materials ensures suitability across all ranges of chemical processes. The gasket usually selected is between FRG and FRG FS.

OFFSHORE

Flange Rescue Gaskets can be used on a whole variety of critical service lines, both topside and sub sea, ensuring fire safe compliance as recommended by the HSE. Typical lines will include hydrocarbon fluids, produced gas, gas condensate, fuel gas blowdown, crude oil, hot oil, sour & low temp, methanol and glycol injection lines etc. The gasket of choice is typically the FRG FS.

SUBSEA

FRG SS (Subsea) and FRG RJ (Ring Joint) are used typically on subsea applications ranging from connections to and from export lines, flow lines, SSIV’s, PLET’s, PLEM’s, spools, manifolds, bundles, jumpers, rigid and flexible risers.

DESALINATION PLANTS

A growing industry converting seawater into drinkable water removing the highly concentrated salt content, the standard FRG is typically the gasket of choice for this highly corrosive environment.

LNG

Liquefied natural gas or LNG (predominantly methane, CH₄) that has been cooled to cryogenic temperatures to be converted into a liquid to maximise storage capacity, the FRG CS (cryogenic service) is the gasket of choice for degraded flanges in this type of service.

ALKYLATION UNITS

Typically found on refineries which is a chemical process that produces the motor fuel, alkylate. Catalysts are added to C₃-C₅ olefins and isobutene used to increase the chemical reaction and HF (hydrofluoric acid) is a product of this process which is highly hazardous and is corrosive to most metals by nature, therefore the metallurgy and sealing solution is critical. The FRG HF is an ideal gasket of choice for these applications.
