The Flange Rescue Gasket (FRG) range of high performance sealing solutions is Flexitallic’s latest engineering innovation for challenging, corrosive environments.
The FRG is widely used in off-shore installations and met with overwhelming industry approval when launched in 2010. To meet customer demands, Flexitallic has now developed a full range of FRG products that provide effective sealing technology in every environment.
Flexitallic is the only company to make a gasket that addresses concerns over corroded flanges and the resulting loss of containment. The FRG is the latest in a long line of innovations from Flexitallic, starting with the Spiral Wound Gasket in 1912.
The fight against corrosion is a constant battle. Internal corrosion and damaged flange faces are responsible for a significant proportion of hydrocarbon releases and can have a major impact on operating costs, particularly on ageing assets.
The FRG range was developed in direct response to the oil and gas industry requirement for effective closure on damaged flange faces, with additional corrosion inhibiting properties.
Utilising Flexitallic’s revolutionary sealing technology, the FRG range is capable of preventing corrosion in new installations and adapting to corrosion damaged flange faces. Full closure of the corroded area prevents further deterioration, with operators able to open flanges for inspection and confidently resume operation using a new FRG, significantly reducing down-time.
